Six of Cups
The Six of Cups is usually given the meaning "a love affair." One figure in the picture is giving a gift out of pure emotion, without demanding any specific result. There are multiple signifiers in the image of innocence and fertility, but also a flavour of domesticity. This is love in a "pure" and socially accepted form. The card can also be taken as referring to memories and the past: we are looking back on a pleasant scene here, possibly through the metaphoric rose-coloured glasses of nostalgia. Crowley's version of the card has the subtitle "Pleasure."
